Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 18 December, A delegation of Uzbekistan, headed by the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majilis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva, took part in the ninth plenary meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries (TurkPA).

During the event, issues of further development of practical cooperation between the participating countries in various fields within the framework of the TurkPA and the expansion of its activities were considered.

The heads of all delegations welcomed the participation of the delegation of Uzbekistan and rated it as another historic event for the Turkic-speaking countries.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that the upcoming accession of Uzbekistan to TurkPA will further strengthen the organization, make it stronger and stronger, and also expand its capabilities aimed at further rapprochement of the peoples of the member states of this organization.

As a result of the plenary meeting, a number of decisions were made, including the provisions on the creation of a group of women parliamentarians of the TurkPA and on its activities, on the Secretariat of the organization, model laws on tourism and the protection of the intangible cultural heritage of the Turkic world were approved.

The next meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries will be held in 2020 in Kazakhstan.
