Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 4 March, a meeting of senior officials of the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) started in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).

The main purpose of this event is to prepare for the upcoming emergency meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC.

The event is attended by a delegation of Uzbekistan led by the permanent representative to the OIC, envoy Ulugbek Maksudov.

According to Dunyo news agency, the ministers’ agenda includes issues of the current conflict between Israel and Hamas, as well as finding ways to end it and provide humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people. Saudi Arabia initiated this event.

Speeches are expected at the ministerial meeting from OIC Secretary General Hissein Ibrahim Taha, Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Malki, as well as ministers and permanent representatives of the organization’s member countries present at the event.

Based on the results of the meeting, it is planned to adopt a communiqué.
