Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 19-21 December 2019, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, consisting of Advisor to the President Rustam Kasymov and Deputy Prime Minister Elyor Ganiev, took part in the Kuala Lumpur Summit. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
The Summit was attended by Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Turkish Presidents Recep Erdogan and Iran Hassan Rouhani, King of Malaysia Sultan Abdullah Riyatuddin Mustafa Billah Shah and Prime Minister of this country Mahathir Mohammed, as well as senior representatives of about 60 countries.
During the speech of the adviser to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Rustam Kasymov, the participants in the event were acquainted with the initiative of the head of our state put forward at the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly, as well as the ongoing work in the country to revive and preserve national and religious values, study and promote rich scientific and spiritual heritage of the great Muslim scholars and thinkers, strengthening religious tolerance.
Along with this, Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Elyor Ganiev informed the participants of the event about the large-scale socio-economic reforms carried out under the leadership of the President of Uzbekistan, the state of agricultural development and measures to ensure food security in the country.
