Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 14 to 23 July, the XI International Summer Campus of the Presidential Academy in the Republic of Tatarstan is being held in the all-season resort town of Sviyazhsky Hills. This is a unique annual international educational project for young people, the curriculum of which consists of lectures and interactive sessions with leading Russian and foreign scientists, government officials and world-class businessmen. This was reported by the press service of the Center for Public Diplomacy of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Uzbekistan.

The project was created on the initiative of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The mission of the Campus was to create conditions for the communication of talented young people and the formation of a new generation of the country’s intellectual elite.

206 students of the Presidential Academy, universities of Tatarstan and subjects of the Russian Federation, as well as students from partner countries - representatives of Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, China, Uzbekistan, Nigeria arrived in Tatarstan.

XI Summer Campus of the Presidential Academy is dedicated to the theme "Meanings and competencies of the future".

The Campus program includes not only an extensive cultural and entertainment program, but also an educational program.

On 16 July, as part of the educational block, students learned about the work of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) - the director of the SCO Public Diplomacy Center in Uzbekistan, Kabuljon Sabirov, spoke to them.

“The main task of the organization,” the expert explained, “is to ensure economic cooperation. As for the tasks of the SCO Public Diplomacy Center, this includes, in particular, the strengthening of social, humanitarian and cultural ties, the development of youth policy and the strengthening of friendly relations between the countries that are part of our organization.”

The backbone of innovation and the source of ideas for the development of the SCO are young people. He separately stressed that almost half of the world’s youth live in the SCO space - more than 800 million boys and girls.

Undoubtedly, with such a huge potential, the SCO plays an important role in shaping a new type of relationship on the Eurasian continent.

K. Sabirov spoke about the activities of the Center in the field of youth diplomacy.

“Our states pay special attention to cooperation aimed at promoting the mental and spiritual development of the younger generation. Since its establishment, the Center has been actively cooperating with the Youth Platform for the SCO countries SCOLAR Network, which brings together young leaders from 18 countries. Our organizations cooperate in the field of youth exchanges, education, academic exchanges in social, political and social sciences. Essay competitions, seminars, interactive games “SCO Model” are regularly held. Separately, I want to note that at the beginning of this year, the Tashkent "hub" SCOLAR was created at our Center. This hub will contribute to the wider involvement of young representatives in the activities of the SCO, the personal and professional development of young leaders, and the activation of their participation in the implementation of national projects. Today, 102 students from various universities of the country are members of the hub,” he said.

The director of the Center, answering the question of the campus participants, spoke about the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan to prepare a program of activities to expand the dialogue of youth on the topic "SCO - a space of advanced ideas and future initiatives", which is an important step in the development of the SCO. This initiative reflects the desire to involve and involve young people in decision-making and the formation of strategic initiatives, which can lead to greater youth participation and representation within the organization.

Involving youth in dialogue and creating a platform for the exchange of ideas and experience between young leaders from different SCO member countries plays an important role in the formation of new initiatives and the search for innovative solutions in various fields such as economics, science, technology, culture and social development.
