A delegation of Uzbekistan takes part in the international forum "Astana"

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 8-9 June, the Astana International Forum is being held in the capital of Kazakhstan. This year, the forum participants will discuss the topic “Overcoming Challenges through Dialogue: On the Way to Cooperation, Development and Progress,” Kazinform reports.

The Astana International Forum (IFA) has a unique format aimed at solving key global challenges in the areas of foreign policy and international security, international development and sustainability, energy and climate change, as well as in the field of economics and finance.

As noted by the organizing committee of the forum, the main discussions will unfold in four main areas:

- foreign policy and international security;

- international development and sustainability;

- energy and climate change;

- economics and finance.

About 300 iconic foreign speakers of world renown will take part in the IFA. Taking into account the accompanying persons and participants, about 1000 people are expected to participate in the MFA.

In addition, the Forum is also a country anchor event for investors.

The IFA is the largest dialogue platform in the region, which can be considered the “Asian Davos”. The task is to discuss the most pressing issues of our time and, with the participation of a circle of experts, search for their solutions.

On 8 June, after the plenary session, the Council of Foreign Investors will be held.

The forum will become a productive and authoritative event, one of the main dialogue platforms for experts in Eurasia.

The forum will be attended by Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, Head of the Presidium of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zelka Tsviyanovich, Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, former President of Ethiopia Mulatu Tesome, former President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso and others.

IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, UNESCO Director General Audrey Azoulay, UN Deputy Secretary General, Executive Secretary of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) Armida Alisjabana and other representatives of international organizations will also speak at the forum.

As part of the event, the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, will make a speech, in addition, a series of bilateral meetings of the Head of State with the participants of the Forum is expected.
