Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan led by Deputy Prime Minister Zulayho Makhkamova visited China, Dunyo news agency reported.

Members of the delegation took part in the “China – Central Asia” forum, organized in the Chinese city of Xiamen, Fujian province.

The forum participants were familiarized with the main and priority areas of bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and the PRC within the framework of the “China – Central Asia” format, the ongoing work to protect the rights and interests of women in our country, as well as the results of comprehensive reforms in the fight against poverty.

Chairman of the Committee on Family and Women of Uzbekistan Ozoda Parpiboeva took part in the session of the forum “Women and Sustainable Development”.

During the visit, members of the delegation met with Deputy Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, head of the All-China Women’s Federation Shen Yueyue and Secretary of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee Zhou Zui.

As part of the visit, the delegation of Uzbekistan visited the public work centers of the city of Xiamen to care for low-income families and the Jinan public work centers, where they learned about their experience in reducing poverty and providing employment for women.
