A delegation of Uzbekistan participates in the XIII session of the TURKPA in Baku

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – A delegation from Uzbekistan, headed by the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva, took part in the XIII plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-Speaking Countries (TURKPA) in Baku, on the topic "Green Horizons for the Turkic World: The Role of Parliaments in Implementing the Green Agenda".

The event was attended by the heads of parliaments of TURKPA member countries, as well as delegates from observer members of TURKPA and representatives of international organizations.

Participants discussed issues related to ensuring "green" economic growth, implementing green energy, combating climate change, environmental protection, rational use of natural resources, and further development of inter-parliamentary cooperation in this regard.

Addressing the plenary session, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva noted that parliamentary cooperation on the "green agenda" has broad prospects.

Tanzila Narbayeva emphasized the relevance of the meeting’s theme and drew the participants’ attention to the need for regular interaction between research institutions, centers, and parliamentary committees. Additionally, opinions were expressed regarding the widespread implementation of joint research practices, development of scientifically substantiated proposals, and their submission to governments.

The plenary session also discussed opportunities in the field of renewable energy and the importance of effectively utilizing environmentally friendly energy resources. It was emphasized that this contributes to reducing dependence on traditional energy resources and achieving positive results from an environmental perspective.

Participants discussed the positive experiences of countries in promoting the use of "green energy," as well as modern technologies and innovations in addressing energy security issues.

In this regard, proposals were made to strengthen cooperation, and opinions were exchanged on measures that need to be jointly implemented.

Following the XIII plenary session of TURKPA, the Baku Declaration was adopted.
