Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – A delegation of Uzbekistan led by the Chairwoman of the Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva met with the Secretary General of the French Foreign Ministry Anne-Marie Descôtes.

During the conversation, the parties noted that in recent years an active political dialogue has been established between France and Uzbekistan, and bilateral relations have acquired a completely new dynamic and content. This is largely facilitated by the constructive and trusting dialogue established between the heads of the two states.

Indeed, the official visits of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Paris in 2018 and 2022 gave special dynamism to bilateral cooperation, opened a new page in Uzbek-French relations, and in particular, in the implementation of popular joint projects and programs in trade, economic, investment and other fields.

Anne-Marie Descôtes highly noted the regional policy of Uzbekistan and its key leading role, thanks to which an atmosphere of mutual trust and good neighborliness has been formed in Central Asia, and interregional ties are expanding.

During the conversation, it was emphasized that cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere occupies an important place in the development of bilateral relations. Thus, the French side specifically noted that the events held during the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in November 2022. exhibitions at the Louvre Museum and the Institute of the Arab World have become a "visiting card" of Uzbekistan and were a huge success with the French public.

In this regard, the parties discussed the possibility of opening a branch of the French Alliance in Samarkand, which will help increase the potential of Uzbek youth. As noted, French specialists have developed training programs to improve the teaching of French in Uzbekistan.

As a result of the meeting, agreements were reached on the further expansion of the investment potential of projects of French companies in Uzbekistan, the establishment of joint cultural and humanitarian events, as well as the exchange of experience between Uzbek and French specialists in the field of education.
