Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan got acquainted with the Shenzhen PSPP project with a capacity of 1200 MW and exchanged experience with Chinese specialists.

During the visit, the delegation got acquainted with the Chinese experience and modern technologies for implementing the pumped storage power plant project. There was also an exchange of views with the China Southern Power Grid International company on the implementation of pumped storage power station projects in Uzbekistan, a “Road Map” of practical actions was signed, and areas of mutual cooperation were discussed.

In October 2023, at the “One Belt and One Road” summit, an agreement (Joint Development Agreement - JDA) was signed with the CSPG on the joint implementation of the project “Construction of the Verkhne-Pskem PSPP on the Pskem River, Bostonlyk district, Tashkent region” with a capacity of 600 MW. Under the terms of the agreement, it was agreed to develop the project using the BOOT (build-operate-ownership-transfer) model.

China Southern Power Grid Company Limited (CSG) is a Chinese state-owned energy company operating in Southern China. Specializes in the production, transmission and distribution of electricity. Founded in 2002, headquartered in Guangzhou. It is one of the largest companies in the country.

1. Guangzhou PSPP, capacity 2400 MW, commissioned in 2000;

2. Huizhou pumped storage power plant, capacity 2400 MW, commissioned in 2011;

3. Shinyuan PSPP, capacity 1280 MW, commissioned in 2016;

4. Shenzhen PSPP, capacity 1200 MW, commissioned in 2018;

5. Shiongzhong PSPP, capacity 600 MW, commissioned in 2018;

6. Myezhui pumped storage power plant, capacity 1200 MW, commissioned in 2022;

7. Yangzhiang PSPP, capacity 1200 MW, commissioned in 2022.
