Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 12 June, a meeting was held with the delegation of the US Treasury headed by Larry MacDonald, Deputy Assistant US Treasury for Technical Assistance Policy, at the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, during which issues of expanding cooperation in financial sector reform were discussed.

The foreign side noted a number of issues in which they are ready to provide technical assistance. In particular, cooperation on the development of the market for government securities and capital, cyber security, as well as the prevention of financial crimes and the financing of terrorism in Uzbekistan.

In the final part of the meeting, Larry MacDonald praised the work of the Central Bank in the field of monetary policy and the banking sector, expressed readiness to support the planned reforms and provide the necessary technical assistance on these issues.
