A delegation of State Demonopolization Committee attends session of Coordination Council on advertisement of CIS
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of the State Demonopolization Committee of Uzbekistan participated at the eighth session of the Coordination Council on advertisement under the Intergovernmental council on antimonopoly policy of the CIS, which was held in Saint Petersburg, Russia, in April.

Representatives of the CIS states (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldavia, Russia, Tajikistan and Ukraine) and 35 state and advertisement businesses of the CIS participated at the event.

The session considered actual issues of advertisement industry I the CIS, regulation of the advertisement market, legislative regulation of outdoor advertisement, social advertisement, etc.

Representatives of State Demonopolization Committee presented a report “On quality of social advertisement in Uzbekistan at placement of state orders, as well as law enforcement and practice of state regulation in advertisement”. It was noted the volume of social advertisement increased by 14.1% in 2009-2010. The volume of social advertisement in TV was 19.1%, radio – 14.6%, print media – 7% and outdoor advertisement – over 20%. Some 20% of placed social advertisement at TV is information on prevention of law violations, including human trafficking. Over 22% of radio advertisement was on social protection and public security, while 20% of advertisement in print media – general holiday advertisements.

The session, overall, discussed issues of interaction of the state bodies, regulating advertisement market and advertisement society, which will help to keep balance of interest of state, public and business.
