Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017. Under this Memorandum, in 2021 an "Agreement on technical assistance and scientific-methodical support of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the sphere of public finance management" was signed for the period 3 years.

In accordance with the agreement, the Ministry of Finance is organizing the planned activities with the involvement of experts from relevant ministries and agencies.

In this regard, a 35-member delegation of the Scientific Research Financial Institute of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation (hereinafter referred to as NIFI) is visiting Uzbekistan from 10 to 29 October this year.

Samvel Lazaryan, head of the Russian delegation, welcoming his colleagues from the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan, noted the high level of relations between the two countries.

"Since the beginning of 2017, the Republic has been undergoing large-scale economic reforms, and I am glad that all the topics that we will discuss during the visit are in line with the strategic objectives that the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan has set for the government and the Ministry of Finance," Samvel Lazaryan said.

The bilateral cooperation programme includes 10 areas, each of which will feature seminars and workshops. The Deputy Minister of Finance also pointed this out.

"A busy programme awaits us, and we will try to use this opportunity to make all the meetings productive and useful for our staff," Akhadbek Haidarov said.

The visit will include practical seminars, experience exchange sessions, professional development courses on initiative budgeting and other activities with the participation of NIFI specialists. It will be attended by representatives of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, relevant ministries and agencies, as well as the media.
