A delegation of IT Park led by the Advisor to the Prime Minister paid a visit to the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Between 26 and 27 June 2020, an IT Park delegation led by the Advisor to the Prime Minister, Olimjon Umarov, paid a visit to the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm region, where they visited a number of educational facilities institutions and talked with local IT professionals.

The delegation got acquainted with the implementation process of the construction of the IT Park branch in the city of Nukus, which will consist of 16 floors with a total area of 12,000 square meters. The building will have training rooms, classrooms for mobile robotics, e-sports, IT laboratories, conference halls, an IT center, coworking centers, office premises.

The branch will be able to create more than 1,000 new jobs. The building is scheduled to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2021.

The main task of IT Park branches is to train, share knowledge and experience of like-minded people who want to study IT and develop their IT and entrepreneurial skills.

It is noteworthy that the population of the city of Nukus is 312 thousand people, of which 53% are young people. And more than 1100 young men and women registered on the One Million Uzbek coders platform and 106 students have already completed training and received their certificates.

The total area of the 4-story IT Center in Nukus under construction is more than 400 meters2 and will include:

- coworking zone;

- study rooms;

- audiences for mobile robotics and e-sports;

- VR / AR and 3D laboratories;

- conference hall;

- office rooms.

It is worth noting that IT Park does not seek to create beauty and other external factors. IT Park is trying to place greater emphasis on providing students and beginners with the necessary conditions for work and training. Particular emphasis is placed on: 24/7 operation mode for fulfilling foreign orders and projects, uninterrupted power supply, high-speed Internet, providing the necessary equipment, and of course, high-quality educational courses.

In order to strengthen cooperation with higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan, the delegation visited the Nukus branch of TUIT. At the meeting, issues of admission of applicants, advanced training of teachers, the importance of training civil servants in the IT sphere in IT centers, as well as online training were discussed. The parties agreed to increase the level of students’ stability by publishing scientific articles.

In addition, the Advisor to the Prime Minister noted the importance of close cooperation between the TUIT branch and the IT Park branch in Nukus. The best students of TUIT will have the opportunity to complete an internship in IT Park so that at the end of the university they can gain practical experience and become highly qualified specialists.

Particular attention is also paid to networking between IT companies, IT specialists, freelancers, startup teams and students, which is why a meeting with representatives of the Karakalpakstan IT community was held in Nukus.

At the meeting, the delegation was able to get acquainted with those present in an informal setting, communicate with them and find out what problems they have to face while working in the IT field. As a result of this informal meeting, it is planned to improve networking between all representatives of the IT community to exchange experience and knowledge between participants and monitor existing problems in this area.

There was a meeting with the khokim of Khorezm region, in which it was agreed to establish an IT Park branch on the basis of the existing communications college. This college is located in the center of Urgench, which is a convenient location for young people, in terms of movement and quick location.

In the city of Urgench, the delegation also met with residents of IT Park, startup teams, freelancers, teachers and students at the Urgench Professional College of Information and Computer Technologies.

At the meeting, special attention was paid to the topic of professional personnel, their shortage and training, in particular, advanced training of teachers of educational institutions in computer science.

Following this meeting, the delegation got acquainted with the activities of the innovative technology park Khorezm and talked to the director of the technology park, the rector and vice-rector of Urgench State University.

The parties discussed the issues of training students, computer literacy teachers, the implementation of the internship program in the technopark for students, as well as the creation of an incubation center for the development of startup teams.

The delegation visited the construction site of two IT-Centers located in Bagat and Hansky districts. Issues of teacher training were discussed; providing IT centers with the necessary equipment; the implementation of teacher training on the One Million Uzbek Coders platform and advanced training of civil servants in the IT sector in these IT Centers.
