Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15-16 January 2019, a delegation of Agrobank, headed by acting president of the Board Rustam Mamatkulov, visited Budapest (Hungary).

According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Austria, at the meetings of the Uzbek delegation with the Hungarian partners, practical issues of cooperation were discussed.

In a conversation with Hungarian Eximbank Deputy Director General Istvan Szabo, cooperation between the two financial institutions was discussed and the potential of Agrobank was presented. At the event, the opportunities, provided by the bank for companies and investors wishing to create cotton and grain clusters, were presented.

The Hungarian side praised the pace and scale of economic reforms in Uzbekistan initiated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. It was noted that the painless liberalization of the monetary and financial market implemented in the republic deserves special attention.

Expressing interest in establishing mutually beneficial cooperation with Agrobank, the head of Eximbank announced its intention to significantly expand cooperation with Uzbek banking and financial institutions, including insurance organizations.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on joint work on a number of joint projects in order to achieve concrete results in the near future.

During the meeting with the head of the Budapest branch of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Yozhef Kovachem, issues of implementation of promising projects in cooperation with Hungarian companies within the framework of preferential credit lines provided by Eximbank were discussed.
