Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A criminal case has been opened against the head of the Navoi regional branch of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mereya Omonboeva, on suspicion of committing fraud, Kun.uz reported.

According to the data, Omonboeva received a significant amount of money from a developer with a promise to purchase a plot of land through the Navoi administration.

The Navoi region prosecutor’s office is currently conducting an investigation under articles 168 (fraud) and 28211 (bribery) of the Criminal Code.
