Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 19 February, a concert of the outstanding violinist, winner of many international awards and competitions Maxim Vengerov took place at the Palace of International Forums “Uzbekistan” in Tashkent.

The National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Alibek Kabdurakhmanov performed with him.

The program included an overture to the opera “The Marriage of Figaro” by V.A. Mozart, Violin Concerto by J. Sibelius, intermezzo from the opera “Honor Rusticana” by P. Mascagni, “Meditation” from the opera “Thais” by J. Massenet and the concert rhapsody “Gypsy” by M. Ravel.

Maxim Vengerov’s performances are always accompanied by an enthusiastic reception all over the world, and Tashkent was no exception. Following numerous requests from the public, the musicians performed an encore of the second part of Henryk Wieniawski’s Concerto No. 2.
