Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution on the creation of the project office “Center for Educational Projects” in the form of a state institution.

This step is aimed at improving human resources and the quality of education in accordance with international standards, as well as accelerating reforms in the educational sector.

The director of the office will be appointed and dismissed by the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan. The director has the powers of first deputy ministers in the field of preschool and school education, higher education, science and innovation.

The office will regularly provide information on the level of reform in the education system, measures taken that impede the implementation of reforms, and ways to overcome them.

Ministries and other government bodies are obliged to ensure high-quality implementation of proposals and recommendations developed by the office within the established time frame. Project proposals in the field of education must now undergo mandatory approval by the project office.

The project office has been assigned tasks for 2024, including analysis of the teaching staff training system, development of higher educational institutions, introduction of modern methods for diagnosing student development and creating conditions for increasing the share of the private sector in education.
