Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In order to expand Uzbek-Indian cooperation in the field of ziyorat tourism and attract Indian pilgrims to Uzbekistan, Uzbekistan’s Embassy in Delhi, together with the State Tourism Development Committee of Uzbekistan, has worked out the issue of publishing a book telling about potential of the republic in the field of ziyorat tourism.

The book titled "Journey to Uzbekistan - the birthplace of Amir Temur" is written in Urdu.

The publication of this book is the result of the visit of the Indian delegation headed by the chief imam of Jama-masjid of the city of Delhi, Said Ahmad Bukhari, as part of the first International Forum on Sea Tourism, which was held in February this year in the city of Bukhara. The author of the book is Mumtaz Alam, the head of the Delhi bureau of the popular Inklab newspaper in Urdu.

“After a trip to Uzbekistan, I published a series of articles about your hospitable country. At the same time, I decided to publish my impressions of the trip to Uzbekistan in the form of a book. I hope that it will become a useful source for Indian readers and tourists, especially in terms of Ziyorat tourism,” the author notes.

In his book, Mumtaz Alam speaks about the historical cities of Uzbekistan - Bukhara, Termez, Tashkent, Samarkand and Khiva. He highlighted separate sections of the book on Islamic shrines of Uzbekistan. In particular, the author informs readers about the Hazrati Imam complex, where one of the most valuable relics of Islam is kept - the Koran of the Caliph Osman, as well as the memorial centers of Bahauddin Naqshbandi in Bukhara and Imam al-Bukhari in Samarkand.

It is noted that Imam al-Bukhari - the author of sahih-hadis - is greatly respected and honored throughout the Islamic world.

In turn, Bahauddin Naqshbandi is the founder of the Sufi direction Naqshbandiya, which is also common in South Asia.

The author emphasizes the great contribution of Imam al-Bukhari, Bahauddin Naqshbandi, Imam al-Termizi and other scholars and thinkers in the development of Islamic science and culture.
