Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Turkiye deported to Uzbekistan a 45-year-old man who was wanted on charges of fraud and human trafficking. This was reported by the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul.

According to the consulate, law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan and Turkiye detained Ozod Rakhimov in Istanbul on May 6 during a joint event.

In 2022-2023, Rakhimov fraudulently embezzled a large amount of money from residents of the Samarkand region. 

While in Istanbul, he promised to send several citizens of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to the United States along the route Turkiye - Spain - Nicaragua - Mexico, taking $10-15 thousand from each of them. He used the money received for personal interests.
