Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the Special Republican Commission, restrictive measures (quarantine) in Uzbekistan have been extended until 10 May 2020. After ensuring national security, economic issues and the further stable and uninterrupted work of its branches and sectors come to the fore. This was reported by the press service of the State Tax Committee.

In the period of a tightened order to counteract the spread of coronavirus infection, mitigation measures were introduced separately for taxpayers. For example, the deadlines for the payment of a number of taxes have been extended, the right to deferment and installment plans has been granted, tax rates have been reduced, and interest and penalties suspended.

The measures concern, among others, individual entrepreneurs (IPs), who are faced with force majeure circumstances. For the quarantine period, the calculation of a fixed amount of personal income tax and social tax for individual entrepreneurs is suspended. So, according to paragraph 5 of the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan dated 3 April 2020 “On additional measures to support the population, economic sectors and business entities during the coronavirus pandemic,” individual entrepreneurs should only notify the state tax service of the temporary suspension of activities.

This can be done remotely through the portal my.soliq.uz, without having to submit a certificate of state registration. The one-click procedure was introduced at the initiative of the State Tax Committee.

At the service of taxpayers is the interactive service “Send a notification on the suspension of tax assessment during the quarantine period”. It will allow individual entrepreneurs to promptly inform the tax authorities of the impossibility of continuing their activities.

In April 2020, 2,400 taxpayers already used this service: 1,283 notifications were sent from individual entrepreneurs in Samarkand region, 542 from Tashkent city, 125 from Tashkent region, 89 from Syrdarya region, 80 from Kashkadarya region. A fixed amount of income tax and social tax in the amount of 1.1 billion soums was not accrued to him.

In total, 198,969 individual entrepreneurs out of 247,286 registered were temporarily suspended in the republic. The STC recommends that all IPs conduct a procedure for temporary suspension of business remotely #STAY_HOME, without visiting tax authorities or public service centers.
