250 Grams of Gold Discovered During Personal Inspection of Passenger in Ferghana
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Customs officers in the Ferghana region uncovered an attempt to illegally export precious metals at an international airport.
According to the agency’s press service, customs officers became suspicious due to the behavior of a female passenger traveling abroad.
During a personal inspection using body scanning equipment, three gold bars weighing a total of 250 grams were discovered concealed in her intimate area.
Preliminary estimates place the value of the seized gold at approximately 358 million Uzbek soums. An inquiry is currently underway regarding the incident.
