Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan national team narrowly defeated Kyrgyzstan 3-2 in an away match during the third round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Joel Kodo opened the scoring for Kyrgyzstan in the 15th minute, but just two minutes later, Uzbekistan’s captain Eldor Shomurodov equalized.
Odiljon Abdurakhmanov then restored Kyrgyzstan’s lead in the 35th minute, but Khusnidin Aliqulov scored for Uzbekistan in the 45th minute to level the score once more.
The winning goal for Uzbekistan was scored by Ostin Urunov in the 72nd minute.
With 6 points from two matches, Uzbekistan will play their next game against Iran on 10 October.
