167 citizens of Uzbekistan denied entry to Mongolia in 2024 due to visa errors

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2024, Mongolian border services denied entry to 167 Uzbek citizens due to improper visa documentation, reports the Immigration and Citizenship Authority of Mongolia.

The primary reasons for denial included failure to specify the purpose of the visit, selecting the wrong visa category, and an inability to demonstrate financial support.

In total, Mongolian border guards turned away 2,100 foreigners from 30 countries last year. Citizens of China and South Korea were the most frequently denied entry.

The introduction of electronic visas has contributed to a reduction in border deportations. In January-February 2025, 211 foreigners were refused entry to Mongolia, 19 of whom were citizens of Uzbekistan.

It is worth noting that Uzbek citizens can visit Mongolia without a visa for up to 30 days with a valid passport.
