Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Two Mercedes-Benz buses caught fire in Tashkent within a span of 24 hours.
The first incident occurred on 18 December when a bus on route No. 169 caught fire on Amir Temur Avenue. The fire was reported at 21:07, and two fire and rescue teams were dispatched, arriving at 21:13 and extinguishing the blaze by 21:23.
There were no injuries, but the bus suffered significant damage.
The second fire occurred on 19 December around noon at the intersection of Yangi Sergeli and Kipchak streets, where a bus on route No. 132 caught fire. The fire was reported at 11:51, and two fire and rescue teams arrived four minutes later, fully extinguishing the fire by 11:57. There were no casualties in this incident either.
Both incidents have raised concerns about the condition of public transport in the capital.
