Russia’s Mobile TeleSystems OJSC (MTS) said on 12 August that its Uzbek subsidiary’s revenue increased by 64% year-on-year to US$93 million as of 1 July 2008.

Number of Internet users in Uzbekistan reached 2.21 million people, the website of the Uzbek Agency for Communication and Information (UzACI) said. The number of users increased by about 200,000 new users in January-June 2008.
Ucell says its serves over 1.5 million users and the growth connected with introduction of the new brand and strategy. The company said it attracted 500,000 new users in April-July.
Number of mobile users in Uzbekistan reached 9 million in the first decade of July 2008, the Uzbek Agency for Communication and Information said.
