StrategEast and Google launch major “Build with AI for Sustainable Growth” Program for Central Asia and the Caucasus

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 12 June, StrategEast, in partnership with Google, launched a significant cross-country project titled “Build with AI for Sustainable Growth.”

This four-month program aims to bring together developers from across Central Asia and the Caucasus to address sustainable development challenges using artificial intelligence technologies. The best development teams from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Georgia will present their projects at the final hackathon in Astana in September 2024.

StrategEast is implementing this initiative in collaboration with Google and the USAID’s Future Growth Initiative.

As part of the “Build with AI for Sustainable Growth” program, Google and StrategEast experts will conduct a series of hackathons and workshops for technical specialists, utilizing Google’s AI tools based on the advanced Large Language Model (LLM), Gemini. The program aims to find solutions to sustainable development issues in the Central Asia and Caucasus region.

Google’s support for the program is part of its ongoing effort to educate IT industry professionals on using AI tools. The program will culminate in a hackathon in Astana in September 2024, where participating teams will present their prototypes or even finished products addressing critical areas such as:

  • Air and water quality improvement
  • Environment, health, and quality of life
  • Land degradation, desertification, biodiversity loss, and deforestation
  • Water resource management and conservation
  • Agriculture and food security

Applications for the Build with AI for Sustainable Growth Hackathon can be submitted via the link. The deadline for applications is 15 August 2024.
