Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin arrived in Tashkent on a state visit on 26 May.

At the Tashkent airport, Vladimir Putin was met by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

As part of the visit, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Russia Vladimir Putin will hold negotiations.

The agenda of the meeting includes a discussion of the further development and deepening of Uzbek-Russian relations of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance. 

The leaders of the two countries will discuss issues of expanding practical interaction, increasing mutual trade turnover, promoting cooperation projects in various sectors of the economy, supporting innovative cooperation programs and continuing active cultural and humanitarian exchange.

Following the summit, the parties will sign a substantial package of bilateral documents.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Vladimir Putin will take part in the first meeting of the Council of Regions of Uzbekistan and Russia.
