International Pilgrimage Tourism Week takes place in Bukhara

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 25 to 29 November, the “International Ziyorat Tourism Week” is being held in Bukhara under the auspices of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the Committee on Tourism, Committee for Religious Affairs and Khokimat of Bukhara Region.

The event is attended by representatives of various international organizations, influential figures of the Islamic world, tourism experts from around the world, local and foreign media. organizations, as well as representatives of local tourism service providers.

The main goal of the Ziyorat Week is to further use the existing tourism potential of Uzbekistan, promote its destination as a significant center of world civilizations, promote high recognition of the international community and international organizations, as well as diversify tourism services and increase tourism exports.

On 26 November, participants got acquainted with the ancient sights and historical monuments of the city, and also took part in an exhibition of religious and educational publications held at the Mir Arab madrasah.

Subsequently, within the framework of the event, a scientific and practical conference was held on the topic “Uzbekistan: the center of Islamic civilization”, dedicated to the development of tourism opportunities in the Bukhara region, as well as events dedicated to the promotion of Bukhara as a unique tourism brand in the ziyara segment.

On 27 November, the forum “Uzbekistan - as the best Muslim destination” is being held, the main topic of which will be meetings with tour operators from member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and local tourism organizations.

On the fourth day of the international week, participants will visit the festival “Uzbek National Cuisine” and the Exhibition of Craftsmen, and there is also the opportunity to see the international festival “Nomad Games”.

A press conference will be organized for journalists and representatives of the general public with the participation of officials and representatives of international organizations to sum up the results of the “International Tourism Week”.

Following the results of the event, an exhibition dedicated to “National Costumes” and a festival “National Melodies” will take place, providing participants with the opportunity to experience the richness of the ancient and rich history of the region.
