Days of Japanese Culture to be held in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, the Ikuo Hirayama International Caravanserai of Culture, the Uzbek-Japanese Center, the Uzbekistan-Japan Friendship Society and the Tea Ceremony Study Community present the Days of Japanese Culture, which will be held at the Ikuo Hirayama International Caravanserai of Culture from 7 to 13 July 2022. 

As part of the Days of Japanese Culture, exhibitions will be presented: “Posters of the No Theater” by Norio Fujishiro, “Traditional Japanese Kimono”, “Objects of the Japanese Tea Ceremony”, “Models of the Cultural Heritage of Japan”, “Hashi” (Japanese chopsticks). In addition to the expositions, there will be master classes on putting on a kimono, calligraphy, sumi-e, paper cutting kiri-e, temari, as well as a demonstration of the tea ceremony and the preparation of sushi rolls. There will also be a screening of the feature film “Wanko” and the animated film “Pop In Q” in Japanese with Russian subtitles.

At the Opening Ceremony, which will be held on 7 July at 17:00 in the large exhibition hall of the Ikuo Hirayama International Caravanserai of Culture, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan Mr. Fujiyama Yoshinori and the Chairman of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan Mr. Akmal Nuridinov will make a welcoming speech. Also, the performance of the students of the dutar course of the Uzbek-Japanese Center under the guidance of the professor of the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan, Ms. Khojaeva Ruzibi, is planned.
