Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The International Center for Strategic Development and Research in Food and Agriculture (ISCAD) under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan is conducting monitoring and analytical work on the ground on the targeted use of funds from entrepreneurs who started their activities at the expense of IFIs (international financial institutions). Representatives of the Center are trying to find solutions to the problems faced by entrepreneurs. Practical assistance is also provided to initiators with targeted projects in allocating funds to IFIs.
Employees of this center visited Bukhara region on a 5-day working trip, during which they got acquainted with the activities of entrepreneurial farmers in the region, analyzed the effectiveness of spending IFI funds. In particular, we visited Usmon Sher Shamshod Limited Liability Company of Gijduvan district.
Sherzod Jumayev, who began his work in 2011, expanded his business immediately after the government showed interest in entrepreneurship. In particular, he organized agrologistics and a horticultural cluster on an area of 2.5 hectares. Here he planned to create more than 200 permanent and more than 1,000 seasonal jobs. Only from transport services received more than 14 billion soums, and from the export of agricultural products - 20.9 billion soums. Revenues from transport services in the 1st quarter of 2022 amounted to 726 million soums.
Today, in the processing shop of the entrepreneur, whose equipment was imported from China, fruits are sorted by quality and size. Equipment brought from Austria produces juices and jams from a special type of fruit. There are 2000-ton refrigeration equipment, 20 refrigerators and more than 40 trucks for storage and delivery of products.
Sherzod Jumaev was allocated 1150 hectares of land to create a garden based on a cluster system. Of these, 300 hectares of land were developed: vineyards were planted on 200 hectares, and various fruit seedlings were planted on 100 hectares. The rest of the land is gradually developed, work continues for planting seedlings. The seedlings are watered using a modern and economical drip irrigation system.
