A new variety of soybeans from Turkey was brought to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Turkish company Atlas Tohum Ziraat Ltd. handed over the Arisoy soybean variety to the Center for the Development of Seed Production under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The seeds were planted in various climatic conditions of our country.
In March 2022, the working group of the Seed Development Center got acquainted with the Turkish experience in the modernization of seed shops based on modern and innovative technologies. The business trip was organized to expand the production of high-quality and competitive seeds and raise the seed production of our country to the level of international standards.
In the city of Adana (Turkey), the working group met with the director of Atlas Tohum Ziraat Ltd. Serdar Mard. A Memorandum of Cooperation on testing and exchange of experience in the Republic of Uzbekistan was concluded between the Center for the Development of Seed Production and the company. On the basis of the Memorandum, the Arisoy soybean variety was brought to our country. The seeds were planted in elite seed farms: "Pakhtakor" in Jizzakh region, "Uychi" in Namangan region, "Pastdargom" in Samarkand region, "Bagot" in Khorezm region.
When meeting with Serdar Mard, the working group got acquainted with the production workshops and laboratories of the company. The participants exchanged views on testing and seed production of soybean and peanut varieties created by the company. We also talked about the properties of cotton, willow, soybeans and peanuts, developed by the company’s scientists.
In addition, meetings were held:
– with the Managing Director of the Turkish Seed Association “TURKTOB” Savas Akçan,
- the head of the company "AKYUREK" Umutbek Akyurek,
- Executive Director of the Seed Association of the International Economic Cooperation Organization "ECOSA" Ali Uston and other large companies and associations of the seed industry.
It should be noted that "Arisoy" is one of the most widely grown and productive varieties over the past 5 years in Turkey. It is also a type of early ripening crop resistant to diseases and pests, the seeds of which do not crumble.
