UNICEF: the share of computer-illiterate girls in Uzbekistan is 43.5%
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - According to a UNICEF study on youth issues, in Uzbekistan, the share of computer-illiterate girls is 43.5% compared to 30.0% among boys, the UNICEF press service in Uzbekistan reported.
About 68% of girls and young women between the ages of 14 and 30 have never used the Internet. This significantly reduces their opportunities to get an education and realize their potential in the labor market.
Girls need digital literacy and a safe digital space, free from the risk of gender-based violence, so that their talents can be unleashed.
