UzAuto Motors intends to resume production of Lacetti and Spark in the near future

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Recently, some media representatives, on their channels, report that the Chevrolet Spark car was not produced in August 2021. These data correspond to reality and are confirmed on the basis of data from the State Statistics Committee of the Republic.

According to the press service of UzAuto Motors, the company carried out a phased transformation of management and production, within which it was planned to switch to the production of cars on the basis of a single unified platform.

At the first stage, these models will be Chevrolet Tracker and Chevrolet Onix cars.

The planned installation and commissioning works necessary as part of the transition, which would allow to master the production of the Tracker and Onix models in the future, were carried out for the period from mid-July to the end of August 2021.

This large-scale modernization took place against the backdrop of an acute shortage of semiconductors, so necessary for the production of cars. Due to these factors, the production of Chevrolet Lacetti and Chevrolet Spark models was temporarily suspended.

UzAuto Motors intends to resume production of these models in the near future.
