Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 15 July this year, within the framework of the International Conference “Central and South Asia: Regional Interconnectedness. Challenges and Opportunities” at the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction, First Deputy Minister Ilkhom Norkulov met with the official delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic headed by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Minister of Economy and Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov.
The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Uzbekistan Ibragim Zhunusov, First Deputy Chairman of the Tax Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mubin Mirzaev, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Kyrgyz Republic Khurshid Mirzakhidov, as well as representatives of the relevant departments of the ministry.
The main topics for discussion were the current state and possible prospects for long-term cooperation in various spheres of the economy. The guests were informed about the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, including in the field of the ongoing macroeconomic policy, poverty reduction issues, tax reforms, etc.
At the same time, the prospects for cooperation were discussed separately, in such areas as the development of trade and economic relations, the reduction of technical barriers, the building of relationships between the ministries of the two countries in the field of analysis and forecasting, digitalization of tax and customs operations and others.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to create a joint working group from among the specialists of the relevant ministries and departments of the two countries to exchange experience, analyze and take joint measures in the field of macroeconomic forecasting, eliminate barriers in mutual trade, as well as in the tax and customs spheres.
