Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 23 June, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
The heads of states discussed topical issues of further deepening the Uzbek-Tajik relations of strategic partnership and the development of regional interaction.
The importance of the practical implementation of the agreements reached and the agreements signed following a high-level visit to Tajikistan on 10-11 June 2021 was noted. Particular attention is paid to promoting joint cooperation projects in trade, industry, energy, agriculture, transport and other sectors of the economy, as well as cultural and humanitarian exchange programs in accordance with the adopted "road maps".
The leaders exchanged views on the emerging situation in Central Asia and stressed the need to continue close dialogue and coordination of efforts in order to ensure security and stability, and strengthen good-neighborliness in the region.
They also considered the schedule of upcoming multilateral events, including within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and other international structures.
