Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Production of UzAuto Motors cars will be organized in Tajikistan. The project cost is US$2 million.
On 9 June 2021, on the eve of the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Tajikistan, in Bakhtar, Tajikistan, the first Uzbek-Tajik interregional investment forum was held.
During the forum, an agreement was signed to establish a joint venture "Auto Motors Tadjikistan" for the production of passenger cars "UzAuto Motors". This project was implemented within the framework of the agreements reached during the visit of the Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan Sherali Kabir to Uzbekistan on 21 April 2021. This was reported by the press service of Uzavtosanoat.
To implement this project, on 5-7 May 2021, the working group of Uzavtosanoat visited the Republic of Tajikistan, where it studied the production facilities of the partner company AluminSokhtmon and negotiated the creation of a joint venture.
The production capacity of the project, with a total cost of US$2 million, at the initial stage will be 10,000 vehicles, with further plans to increase to 35,000 units.
As a reminder, on 28 March 2020 in the city of Kostanay, Kazakhstan, at the production facilities of SaryarkaAvtoProm, the assembly of UzAuto Motors cars under the Chevrolet brand started.
