Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A working group consisting of senior officials from the Ministry of Energy and Uzbekneftegaz paid a visit to Saudi Arabia.
The purpose of this visit is to accelerate the formation of the National Renewable Energy Research Institute, established by the Ministry of Energy.
During the visit, issues of joint implementation of new promising projects with leading companies in Saudi Arabia, the development of scientific potential in the use of hydrogen and renewable energy sources in various sectors of the economy, the attraction of international grants, and the establishment of partnerships with scientific institutions, centers and experts were discussed.
In particular, negotiations and round tables were held with Saudi Aramco, SABIC, Air Products and AKWA Power.
During the visit to Saudi Aramco, presentations were made by specialists in the field of oil and gas processing and field exploration. Information is given on the implemented modern technological solutions, innovative developments. On the part of Uzbekistan, the research center "Saudi Aramco Global" was presented with proposals in several areas of cooperation.
It should be noted that Saudi Aramco is the world’s largest oil reserves and production company. The company owns 99% of Saudi Arabia’s oil reserves. The petrochemical company SABIK, founded under the founding of Saudi Aramco, is one of the growing companies producing modern engineering polymers with high added value, consisting of modern green technologies that combine a combination of innovation and technology. The company produces and supplies to consumers about 15 million tons of polymer products per year.
During the negotiations, Saudi companies showed interest in the projects "Construction of a gas chemical complex based on MTO technology" and "Production of alkylbenzene for detergents" implemented by Uzbekneftegaz JSC. An agreement was reached on cooperation in the formation and implementation of working groups on projects.
The next visit of the working group was the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (CAUST), which is ranked in the top 40 fastest growing universities according to the Nature Index. It is worth noting that the assignment of the names of great Uzbek scientists such as Abu Ali ibn Sina and Al-Khorezmi to the buildings of the university testifies to the unsurpassed contribution of our country to world civilization. The buildings of the university are built at a high and modern architectural level, and the laboratories fully comply with international standards.
During the visit to the Higher Institute of Water and Energy Technologies, agreements were reached on the organization of short-term and long-term professional development programs for bachelors and masters of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In conclusion, the visit of the working group to Saudi Arabia was effective and fruitful than expected, agreements were reached to establish cooperation with companies such as Saudi Aramco, Air Products, AKWA Power and KAUST Research University. assisting in the implementation of scientific innovations, training and advanced training of personnel, the implementation of alternative energy, based on the great experience achieved by Saudi Arabia.
