Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Uzbekistan Airways plans to sell some of its airplanes. This is stated in the resolution of the President of Uzbekistan "On measures to transform and support civil aviation enterprises" from 30 April 2021.
According to the document, the airline plans to return three Boeing-757-200 to the lessor by October 2021. Uzbekistan Airways also plans to sell two Boeing-767s and two Boeing-757s by December.
At the same time, in early May, Uzbekistan Airways should receive the sixth Boeing-787.
Also, by the end of 2021, Uzbekistan Airways plans to lease two Airbus A321neo LR (long-haul version).
Uzbekistan Airways plans to lease three more A321neo in 2020.
By the end of 2021, the airline plans to fully re-equip four A320 aircraft to full economy class.
It is planned to sell a Mi-8 helicopter and purchase four Airbus helicopters for Uzbekistan Helicopters.
The document notes that the airline intends to convert two Boeing-767 passenger aircraft into a cargo configuration.
The President of Uzbekistan, by his resolution, approved a list of 17 aircraft and simulators to be sold. The list includes five Boeing airliners, five Il-76 TD, seven Il-114-100, as well as the Il-114-100 simulator.
The resolution states that if the Il-76 aircraft are not sold by July 1, 2022, they will be removed from the register and disposed of.
