Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- On 1 May, a telephone conversation was held between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov.

In continuation of the contacts held the day before, the leaders of the two countries discussed the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border.

It was noted with deep satisfaction that thanks to timely and coordinated efforts, it was possible to normalize the situation on the state border and prevent its escalation.

The leaders of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan reaffirmed their firm commitment to jointly resolve all existing issues in the Central Asian region through constructive and trusting dialogue to strengthen friendship, good-neighborliness and partnership between the fraternal countries and peoples.
