Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15 April, political consultations in the Central Asia - Visegrad Group format will be held online at the level of deputy foreign ministers, Dunyo news agency reported.
According to the information of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Warsaw, the organizer of the conference is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, which took over the chairmanship of the "Visegrad Group" (Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia, V4 since 1 July 2020).
The new V4 format for interregional cooperation was launched in Budapest in February 2018. Uzbekistan is in favor of building up mutually beneficial and fruitful ties with the states of the Visegrad Group, taking into account the economic, intellectual, scientific, technical and logistical capabilities available to the parties.
The slogan of the Polish presidency in V4 is the return to normalcy in the post-coronavirus period - "Back on track". Therefore, at the interregional meeting, the parties will discuss the economic and social consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic for the V4 states and Central Asia (CA-5), study possible areas of cooperation, regional security problems and other topics that represent for all parties.
The integration experience of the Visegrad Group can be very useful for the accelerating Central Asian interaction. On 16 March, during the Uzbek-Polish political consultations in Warsaw, representatives of Poland emphasized the significant role of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in this process, actively advocating for strengthening dialogue and cooperation between Central Asian countries in solving the most important problems of the region.
An important factor in the success of the Visegrad Group brand is openness to dialogue and cooperation with other states and associations. Among the partners of the Quartet one can see both its closest neighbors and geographically very distant countries. For example, Canada or Japan. The group is associated with each of the partners with specific mutually beneficial joint projects.
During the conference, it is also planned to discuss specific areas of possible interaction between the states of Central Asia and the Visegrad Group. These include education and human capital development, digitalization and the use of advanced technologies, cooperation within international financial institutions, the development of green technologies and IT start-up parks.
This interregional dialogue is intended to demonstrate the great interest of all the states represented at it in interaction and continuation of an active dialogue in the proposed format.
