Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The growth rate of the number of newly created enterprises in Uzbekistan, compared to the same period of last year, made up 15.1%.
According to the Uzbek State Statistics Committee, the growth was observed in the field of agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 72.0%, information and communication - by 44.3%, health care and the provision of social services - by 13.5%, as well as in Surkhandarya - 29.6%, Kashkadarya - 146.1%, Ferghana - 47.2%, Jizzakh - 33.8%, Namangan - 7.1% and Bukhara - 33.7% regions.
As of 1 April 2021, the number of enterprises in all regions of the country has increased compared to the same period in 2020. At the same time, the average growth rates in the country amounted to 19.0%, the highest growth rates were recorded in Surkhandarya (29.8%), Jizzakh (20.7%), Kashkadarya (25.9%), and Samarkand (23.0%) regions. By types of economic activity, the greatest growth, compared to the corresponding period of 2020, was noted in agriculture, forestry and fisheries (38.6%), trade (29.6%), information and communications (18.7%), as well as in industry (16.1%).
Agriculture, forestry and fisheries are the least affected sector of the economy during the coronavirus pandemic. Thanks to the special attention paid to this area of activity by our state, it becomes obvious that, compared to the same period in 2019, the growth rate of the number of operating enterprises and organizations amounted to 68.6%.
The main areas of this industry are seasonal and perennial crops, livestock, hunting and agriculture, which account for 91.7% of the total volume of agriculture, forestry and fisheries.
The most important areas of this industry are timber harvesting, collection of non-timber forest products and forestry, which accounts for 0.5% of the total volume of agriculture, forestry and fisheries.
Freshwater fishing and feeding fish in artificial reservoirs are the main activities of fish farming, which account for 7.8% of the total volume of agriculture, forestry and fisheries.
It should be noted that the industrial sector has the greatest potential among other sectors of the economy. Over the past three years, the growth rate of the number of operating industrial enterprises in the national economy amounted to 1=37.1%. Although a coronavirus pandemic was declared in 2020, the growth rate of the number of industrial enterprises, even under quarantine conditions, was 16.1%.
Of the total number of enterprises and organizations, the number of industrial enterprises amounted to 17.3%, of which 94.8% belong to the manufacturing industry (growth, compared to 2020, is 16.3%), 3.2% - to the mining industry and development. quarries (growth - 15.9%), 0.6% - electricity supply, gas, steam and air conditioning (growth - 14.6%), 1.4% - water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal (growth – 6.3%).
The construction industry is one of the areas with great potential for maintaining economic stability, since its products are in demand for many industries. The growth rate of the number of enterprises and organizations related to the construction sector, compared to the same period in 2019, amounted to 33.7% and is one of the sectors with stable growth rates among the sectors of the national economy.
The main factor that influenced the growth in the number of enterprises in the construction industry as of 1 April 2021 by 12.5%, if compared with the same period in 2020, is the growth in the number of operating enterprises in the construction of buildings and structures by 56.9% (of the total number enterprises in the construction industry) (growth rate - 5.4%), civilian objects - by 9.8% (growth rate - 29.8%), specialized construction works - by 33.3% (growth rate - 21.7%).
Enterprises operating in the field of trade account for 28.5% of their total number in the republic. The development of this sector has a positive effect on improving the living standards of the population, the consumption of quality products, the growth of production and employment.
The total number of enterprises and organizations operating in the field of trade in the following areas: retail trade, except for trade in cars and motorcycles, amounted to 63.8%, the growth rate, compared to the corresponding period of the last year, amounted to 33.4%; wholesale trade, except for cars and motorcycles, accounted for 28.1% and the growth rate was 21.1%; wholesale and retail trade in cars and motorcycles and their repair - 8.1%, the growth rate was 32.3%.
As of 1 April 2021, the number of enterprises accounted for 6.3% of the total number of enterprises in the country. The growth rate of the number of operating enterprises and organizations in the field of accommodation and catering services, compared to the same period in 2019, amounted to 142.6%.
Hotels, tourist camps, parks, recreation and entertainment towns are important areas of activity in the field of accommodation services and, as of 1 April 2021, the share of operating enterprises and organizations in the field of accommodation and catering services was 9.0%. Compared to the corresponding period of 2020, the number of enterprises and organizations in this area increased by 11.1%.
Restaurants and services for the delivery of food, food on demand and other food delivery services, as of 1 April 2021, account for 91.0% of the food and beverage service sector. Compared to last year, the growth rate of enterprises and organizations in this area amounted to 15.6%.
Compared to the corresponding period of 2019, the number of operating enterprises and organizations in the field of information and communications increased by 35.7%, amounting to 2.0% of their total number, and the growth rate has been steadily increasing over the past three years. It is known that the field of information and communication is an important tool in ensuring the transparency of the reform process, creating an effective mechanism for the exchange of information between the state and society.
As of 1 April 2021, the number of enterprises and organizations engaged in the development of publishing, the production of films, video films, television programs, phonograms and musical recordings accounted for 22.6% of the information and communications sector, an increase compared to the corresponding period of 2020 , by 22.9%. The number of enterprises for the creation of programs, television and radio broadcasting and communications in the field of information and communications amounted to 31.7%, an increase in comparison with the corresponding period of 2020 by 14.7%. The number of enterprises in computer programming and information services amounted to 45.7% in the field of information and communications, an increase in comparison with the same period of last year by 19.5%.
In connection with the further expansion and development of all areas of private medical institutions in our country, necessary and qualified medical services are provided not only to our compatriots, but also to citizens of neighboring countries. As of 1 April 2021, the number of enterprises in the field of healthcare and the provision of social services amounted to 1.9% of the total number of enterprises, having increased by 134.9% compared to the corresponding period of 2019.
As of 1 April 2021, 94.9% of healthcare and social services enterprises were healthcare enterprises, up 115.6% compared to the corresponding period in 2020. The number of residential care providers was 2.5% and, compared to the same period in 2020, this is 2.2% more. The number of enterprises providing social services without housing increased by 11.7% and, if compared with the corresponding period of 2020, in the field of health and social services, it is 2.6%.
As of 1 April 2021, the growth rate of the number of operating enterprises and organizations in the field of transportation and storage amounted to 25.7% and, compared to the same period in 2019, of the total number of operating enterprises and organizations in the country, it amounted to 3.6%. These indicators indicate that the transportation and storage sector is developing steadily.
As of 1 April 2021, the growth rates of enterprises and organizations in the field of land and pipeline transport operating in transportation and storage amounted to 10.6% and, compared to the corresponding period of 2020, 12.1% are accounted for by storage facilities and auxiliary transport activities, 30.3% - for postal and courier services. The number of operating enterprises and organizations in the field of air transport amounted to 47.2% and, if we compare with the same period in 2020, then, at the same time, the number of enterprises and organizations in the field of water transport has increased 3 times.
The Republic of Karakalpakstan accounts for 4.6% of the total number of enterprises and organizations operating in the republic as a whole. In terms of districts and cities, the greatest growth was noted in Takhtakupyr (16.2%), Muynak (30.6%), Takhiatash (24.3%), Nukus (18.6%) and Shumanai (24.8%) districts. By types of economic activity, the highest growth rates were recorded in agriculture, forestry and fisheries, amounting to 42.4%.
Andijan region accounts for 7.8% of enterprises and organizations operating in the country. In January-March 2021, the growth rate of newly created enterprises and organizations, compared to the same period in 2020, amounted to 84.9%. In the context of regions, the highest growth rates were recorded in Balykchy (22.1%), Pakhtaabad (24.4%), Khojaabad (20.7%) and Shakhrikhan (17.5%) districts, and the highest in terms of economic activity. growth rates were recorded in agriculture, forestry and fisheries (39.9%).
5.9% of the total number of enterprises and organizations in the country operate in Bukhara region. In JanuaryMarch 2021, the growth rate of newly created enterprises, compared to the same period of last year, amounted to 33.7%. By region, the highest growth rates were observed in Karaulbazar (34.7%), Bukhara (29.6%), Kagan (24.7%) and Vabkent (37.0%) districts, by type of economic activity the highest growth rates were noted in the field of agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 35.2%.
Jizzakh region accounts for 4.4% of the total number of enterprises and organizations operating in the country. In January-March 2021, the growth rate of newly created enterprises, compared to the same period in 2020, amounted to 33.8%. By region, the highest growth rates were observed in Zafarabad (30.1%), Dustlik (26.1%), Pakhtakor (25.7%) and Zarbdor (28.3%) districts, and by types of economic activity the highest growth rates noted in the field of agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 36.3%.
6.7% of enterprises and organizations operating in the country operate in Kashkadarya region. In January-March 2021, the growth rate of newly created enterprises and organizations, compared to the same period in 2020, amounted to 146.1%. By region, the highest growth rates were recorded in Mirishkor (32.4%), Chirakchy (26.5%), Guzar (28.3%) and Nishan (44.6%) districts, and by type of economic activity the highest growth rates recorded in the field of agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 69.8%.
Navoi region accounts for 4.2% of the total number of enterprises and organizations operating in the country. In January-March 2021, the number of newly created enterprises and organizations, compared to the same period in 2020, decreased by 1%. By regions, the highest growth rates were observed in Kanimekh (24.4%), Tamdy (36.5%), Kyzyltepa (20.0%) and Navbakhor (21.0%) districts, and by types of economic activity the highest growth rates noted in the field of trade - 30.0%.
The share of Namangan region is 6.5% of the total number of operating enterprises and organizations. In January-March 2021, the growth rate of newly created enterprises and organizations, compared to the same period in 2020, amounted to 7.2%. Regionally, the highest growth rates were observed in Naryn (25.6%), Pap (23.9%), Mingbulak (23.0%) and Uchkurgan (21.4%) districts, and by types of economic activity the highest rates growth was noted in the field of trade - 30.0%.
The number of enterprises and organizations in Samarkand region reached 8.3% of their total number in the country. In January-March 2021, the growth rate of newly created enterprises and organizations, compared to the same period in 2020, amounted to 5.9%. In the regional context, the greatest growth was noted in Koshrabad (27.4%), Kattakurgan (23.4%), Pastdargom (24.7%) and Bulungur (24.0%) districts, and by types of economic activity the highest growth rates recorded in the field of trade - 41.3%.
In Surkhandarya region, 5.3% of enterprises and organizations operate. In January-March 2021, the growth rate of newly created enterprises and organizations, compared to the same period of last year, amounted to 129.6%. Regionally, the highest growth rates were observed in Kumkurgan (26.6%), Altynsay (39.3%), Muzrabad (36.1%) and Baysun (40.2%) districts, and by types of economic activity, high growth rates recorded in the field of agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 115.6%.
3.2% of enterprises and organizations operating in the country operate in Syrdarya region. In January-March 2021, the number of newly created enterprises and organizations, compared to the same period in 2020, fell by 29.9%. Regionally, the highest growth rates were noted in Akaltyn (13.0%), Sardoba (24.4%), Mirzaabad (17.5%) and Saykhunabad (9.6%) districts, and the highest in terms of economic activity. the growth rates were recorded in the sphere of trade - 19.5%.
The share of Tashkent region accounts for 9.6% of the total number of operating enterprises and organizations. In January-March 2021, the growth rate of newly created enterprises and organizations, compared to the same period in 2020, amounted to 5.4%. As for the regions, here the highest growth rates were observed in Akkurgan (23.1%), Kuyichirchik (24.2%), Urtachirchik (9.6%) and Chinaz (19.2%) regions, and by type of economic activity the highest growth rates were recorded in the sphere of trade - 27.4%.
Ferghana region has 8.7% of the total number of enterprises and organizations operating in the country. In January-March 2021, the growth rate of newly created enterprises and organizations, compared to the same period in 2020, amounted to 47.2%. By region, the highest growth rates were recorded in Rishtan (28.4%), Yazyavan (20.3%), Tashlak (23.5%) and Ferghana (23.6%) regions, and by types of economic activity the highest growth rates were noted in the field of trade - 32.3%.
Khorezm region accounts for 4.6% of the total number of operating enterprises and organizations. In January-March 2021, the growth rate of newly created enterprises and organizations, compared to the same period in 2020, reached 79.7%. Regionally, the highest growth rates were observed in Yangibazar (18.8%), Koshkupir (23.0%), Bagat (20.5%) and Gurlen (14.5%) districts, and by types of economic activity the highest rates growth was noted in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 27.3%.
In the city of Tashkent, 20.2% of enterprises and organizations of their total number in the country operate. In January-March 2021, the growth rates of newly created enterprises and organizations, compared to the same period in 2020, amounted to 1.6%. By region, the highest growth rates were observed in Almazar (13.8%), Bektemir (14.0%), Uchtepa (11.8%) and Chilanzar (14.6%) districts, and by types of economic activity the highest growth rates were noted in the field of trade - 25.5%.
