Uzbekistan is the first and only country in the CIS to introduce mandatory labeling of beer products

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The State Tax Committee announces a major achievement in the implementation of modern information and communication technologies in tax administration.

In accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 20, 2020 No. 737, within the framework of a public-private partnership agreement with CRPT Turon LLC, a phased implementation of a digital marking system for tobacco and alcoholic beverages, including beer products, has begun.

As part of the implementation of the system, the National Information System "Asl belgisi" was successfully launched, and from 1 January 2021, mandatory digital labeling of tobacco and alcohol products was launched.

As of 1 April 2021, over 7.8 thousand participants in the chain of alcohol and tobacco products are registered in the system.

At the same time, by this decision of the Government, the State Tax Committee was tasked with ensuring the launch of the production of labeled beer products from 1 April 2021.

Due to the consistent measures taken by the State Tax Committee to address the issues of launching the labeling process, as well as assistance and support to beer producers, on 1 April 2021, the production of labeled products was launched at the 3 largest breweries of the republic (76.9% of the market).

Thus, Uzbekistan has become the only country that has successfully launched mandatory digital labeling of beer products in the CIS countries.

This was highly appreciated by the private partner CRPT Turon, which has experience in implementing similar projects throughout the CIS.

The State Tax Committee continues to accumulate unique experience in the process of product labeling, creating a positive example of new transformations.
