Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Until the end of 2021, a moratorium on the installation, change and issuance of passports of outdoor advertising structures will be in effect in Tashkent. The ban will not apply to advertising itself.
The ban, introduced in order to inventory and form a unified electronic register of outdoor advertising structures, will be in effect from 1 April to 31 December 2021. The administration of the capital clarified that the moratorium will not apply to advertising itself.
During the period of the moratorium, new outdoor advertising objects are considered illegal and will be dismantled in accordance with the established procedure, and measures will be taken against the persons who installed them in accordance with the established procedure, the khokimiyat said in a statement.
In February last year, advertising entrepreneurs appealed to Goskomavtodor with a demand to stop destroying their advertising structures. To do this, they placed dozens of billboards in the capital with quotes from the president about supporting business.
