Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on 7 April, school No. 39 of Kungrad district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan was presented with an incentive gift from the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan - a Spark car for high results in training graduates within the framework of the One Million Programmers project.
The event was attended by the Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications Sh. Sadikov, the Minister of Public Education Sh. Shermatov and the Deputy Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan O. Davletov.
An important strategic step into the future can be called the One Million Programmers project initiated by the head of state, which is being implemented by the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications, as well as the Dubai Future Foundation of the United Arab Emirates in cooperation with the Ministries of Investment and Foreign Trade and Public Education.
As of the end of March this year, the number of people registered on the www.uzbekcoders.uz portal and undergoing training within the framework of the project exceeded 200 thousand people. More than 81 thousand of them took part and more than 50 thousand received certificates of completion of the courses.
In terms of regions, the number of registered participants is dominated by the Navoi region (36,000 participants), the Republic of Karakalpakstan (27,574 participants) and the city of Tashkent (25,572 participants).
Based on the analysis carried out by the type of activity of the project participants, the overwhelming majority are students of secondary schools - 67.2 percent. They are followed by students of higher educational institutions - 13.1 percent, employees - 5.8 percent, students of colleges and lyceums - 1.4 percent and others - 12.5 percent.
Within the framework of the project, the largest number of secondary school students registered on the uzbekcoders.uz portal is in Navoi region. Further, educational institutions of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Namangan region were among the most active schools.
In terms of the age structure of the participants, the main contingent (more than 90%) is young people aged 13-34 years. The age structure is as follows: under 12 years old - 2 779 participants (1.3%), 13-17 years old - 108 299 participants (53.1%), 18-24 years old - 47 393 participants (23.3% ), 25-34 years old - 30,522 participants (15%), 25-44 years old - 11,078 participants (5.4%), 45-64 years old (3,740 participants (1.8%), over 65 years old - 72 participant.
Starting this year, the task is to pay up to 50 percent of the funds spent on training by young people who have won international IT certificates.
Today our life is inextricably linked with technology and technology. Currently, all educational institutions have created all the conditions for research work by young people, in-depth study of the IT sphere and the basics of programming. This, in turn, plays an important role in increasing the literacy of the younger generation in the field of information and communication technologies.
