Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of the VEON group of companies visited Uzbekistan to represent Andrzej Malinowsky, appointed as the new CEO of Beeline Uzbekistan. It was headed by the Chief Executive Officer of the VEON group of companies, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Unitel LLC (TM Beeline in Uzbekistan), Mr. Kaan Terzioglu.

The development of digital systems, the widespread introduction of the achievements of information and communication technologies were in the focus of the meeting at the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the republic. They discussed the development of the “Digital Uzbekistan-2030” strategy. The guests informed about the new bill of the Ministry of Information on the development of telecommunications, including the liberalization of access to the international Internet network in Uzbekistan.
During the conversation with the Minister of Health Abdukhakim Khadzhibaev, the participation of the VEON group of companies in the projects of the Ministry for e-medicine and digitalization, the creative activity of joint social projects considered. During the meeting with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the guests appreciated their contribution to the support and development of entrepreneurship in the country.

At the specialized IT school No. 8 in Jizzakh, the delegation greeted with warmth and hospitality. Recall that Beeline Uzbekistan has invested over 700 million sums in modernizing the school and equipping it with new equipment. In the school garden, the guests planted trees. After the cultural program, they were introduced to the conditions created at the school. “I am sure that this IT school will contribute to the education of the younger generation of the region, preparing them to meet new challenges in the digital economy,” emphasizes Kaan Terzioglu.
The next visit was the local branch of the IT-park. The representatives of the delegation were shown the IT center, where everyone can learn computer literacy, programming, mobile robotics, e-sports and English.
Next important meeting was the acquaintance and communication with the hokim of the Jizzakh region, Ergash Saliev. The guests were shown a video about the investment potential of the region, told about its opportunities and features.
Then the delegation visited the under construction presidential school in Jizzakh.
In a conversation with Deputy Minister of Public Education Rustam Karimdzhanov, they talked about the need for close cooperation with the Ministry of Public Education and strengthening work in the implementation of projects related to e-education and the development of startups.
The delegation of the VEON group of companies completed the visit to Uzbekistan with a meeting at the Ministry of Finance, at which the process of regulating the taxation of base stations was discussed.
