The exhibition “Travel in time and along the Silk Road. Travel Diary 1993” opens in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An exhibition “Travel in time and along the Silk Road. Travel Diary 1993” opened in Tashkent.

The exhibition will be held from 15 March to 17 April 2021 at the House of Photography, the building of the French Alliance and the Bonum Factum Gallery in Tashkent.

This exhibition features 109 monochrome photographs and nine photobooks created by Renate Graf during her travels in Central Asia since 1993. Chargé d’Affaires of the French Embassy in Uzbekistan Brice Roquefeuil noted that the photographs presented at the exhibition are shown for the first time.

Photos are divided into three themes:

The Silk Road: a symphony of landscapes from Xi’an to the Taklamakan Desert, revealing the power of nature and the architectural wealth of Uzbekistan.

Sacred Landscapes: An Anthology of Offerings and Rituals.

Melting ice due to global warming: Siberia - chaos and brutality.

This event is the first cooperation in the framework of programming cultural events with the future Franco-Uzbek Cultural Center, which will open its doors in 2022.

The exhibition is held jointly with the French Embassy in Uzbekistan and on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence with the support of Minlikum mining, GosComGeology and Orano, JCDecaux, Wondernet Express, as well as the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan and the Art and Culture Development Foundation under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bonum Factum Gallery and the French Alliance in Tashkent.
