Furkat Sidikov in Doha met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 23 February 2021, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov in Doha met with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdulrahman bin Jasem Al Thani.

During the conversation, the parties discussed promising directions for the development of Uzbek-Qatari relations, noting the presence of significant potential for this in trade, economic, investment, tourism, cultural, humanitarian and other areas.

The sides emphasized the intensification of bilateral political dialogue, as well as a significant increase in cooperation in economic diplomacy.

The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar highly appreciated the large-scale reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan in the field of state and social construction, economic liberalization, improving the business environment and investment climate.

The Qatari side highly appreciated the efforts of Uzbekistan to support the peace process in Afghanistan.

During the conversation, the sides also considered other issues of a regional and international nature.
