National Chamber project: recognize a stroke in the first 4 hours
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A development capable of recognizing a stroke in the first 4 hours using artificial intelligence is planned to be introduced in Uzbekistan. This is the goal of the partnership between the National Chamber of Innovative Healthcare and Cerebra.ai Ltd. (Kazakhstan).
On 13 January 2021, the parties signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, which is designed to contribute to the development of international partnership between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of digitalization and healthcare.
The National Chamber, together with Kazakh partners, plans to launch a pilot project in Uzbekistan to provide medical services using artificial intelligence, namely the Cerebra system for the automated diagnosis of ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes.
The artificial intelligence embedded in the Cerebra platform, after being integrated with computed tomography scanners installed in hospitals, is able to recognize a stroke in the first 4 hours, which is not always possible for the human eye to read the results of computed tomography.
In addition, artificial intelligence is able to calculate the change in tissue density in the nucleus of a stroke, comparing it with the rest of the intact brain tissue. This, in turn, will minimize the risks of human errors in the analysis of visual data from computed tomography of the brain.
“The result of the implementation of this project will be the timely appointment of the patient with immediate treatment during the therapeutic “window ”, which in turn will reduce the risks of loss of functions, disability and will contribute to a quick return to a full-fledged human life after a stroke,” said the Chairman of the National Chamber of Innovative Healthcare of Uzbekistan Rovshan Izamov.
During the signing of the Memorandum, the parties reached an agreement on the analysis in the next 2 weeks by the specialists of the National Chamber of the work of the unique system "Cerebra" in the 7th city hospital in Almaty. This will be the first phase of the pilot project.
