Janik Fayziev: Renaissance in people’s minds is associated with a secular attitude to culture

Janik Fayziev: Renaissance in people’s minds is associated with a secular attitude to culture

24/12/2020 14:57

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As a native of Uzbekistan, how do you understand the theme of this Week: The cultural heritage of Uzbekistan is the foundation of a new Renaissance?

I do not believe there were two of them, and I think there were more of them. The people of Uzbekistan have experienced several such eras, periods of development. The Renaissance in the minds of people is associated with a secular attitude towards culture, science and the people. A secular attitude is impossible without the provision of freedom of opinion, since freedom of opinion automatically leads to freedom of conscience, and freedom of conscience automatically leads to religious tolerance, which, in turn, generates a complete democratization of society.

Having everything that Uzbekistan has - a wonderful climate, a magnificent bright sun, fruits, all climatic zones that exist in this country, efficiency, warmth of people, I believe that Uzbekistan can take a high place in the world ranking.

Tell us about the project about the Great Silk Road. How can he contribute to the preservation and popularization of the cultural heritage of Uzbekistan?

Such a cultural phenomenon as the Great Silk Road is an era that gave the world a huge number of great people and greats. It’s hard to make feature films about this, but it is important to compose scientific works about it, to make documentaries. People living now in a closed world must be given to believe that in this boy, whose parents are forced to earn a living and work hard, the brain of the future Al-Khorezmi or the future Ulugbek is laid. We need to believe that we have the right to feel like people of the world, and not to be somewhere on the periphery.

Like any huge event, the phenomenon of the Great Silk Road cannot be illuminated in any one way. Therefore, we call it a project, which should include a feature film, a cycle of some kind of journalistic programs, various articles, etc. The Great Silk Road existed for several centuries, and accordingly, every 30-50 years a lot has changed in life, in relations between countries. Each of these periods deserves special attention, and we will think about how to more fully reveal this idea and topic.
