Foreign citizens can receive refund for Tokyo Games 2020 tickets

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee on Tuesday opened the acceptance of applications for refunds for tickets purchased for the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, which was postponed from 2020 to 2021. This was reported on the official website of the organizing committee.

It will be possible to submit an application until 30 November. A similar procedure for refunds for purchased tickets for the Paralympics will last from 1 to 21 December. Residents of Japan who got the opportunity to make a purchase after the lottery draw will be able to return the money. Foreign nationals will have to contact the official sales offices in their countries.

The organizing committee notes that if the situation with the coronavirus pandemic does not stabilize, then another phase of the refund will be organized.

It was planned to sell about 10 million tickets for the Tokyo Olympics. In total, about 4.4 million tickets for the Olympics and 970 thousand for the Paralympics have been sold to date.
